Artist Deanna Bach was born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. She grew up in Strathroy, Ontario, where in Kindergarten she won a first place ribbon in a multi school art show for a finger painting, and from then on was hooked on art. Today she lives in Stirling ,Ontario with her child, a cat, and many houseplants.
Deanna attributes her artistic learning to a general curiosity about the world around her. Her father, a landscape artist, as well as many encouraging school teachers and friends along the way also played a big part in shaping her into the artist she is today.
Deanna currently paints in acrylics for the most part. Watercolour is the medium she started using when she began her career in illustrating. She also finds that pastels and other mediums can be fun to dabble in. Deanna is inspired by the nature all around her, be it the cotton ball clouds, a dark forest, or the sun kissed beach. She began the art journey years ago painting the subtle magic of wildlife animals in oil and acrylic and progressed to the outright fantastical with faeries and mythical stories in watercolour and acrylic . Deanna finds painting fantasy to be especially fulfilling as the possibilities are only limited to the imagination, and she finds the sheer magic and beauty of fantasy realms to be positively addictive
Deanna has also delved into the world of OOAK art dolls by repainting, re rooting and re costuming recycled dolls (like the toy Monster High Dolls). She turns them in to fantasy themed dolls as well as custom portrait dolls.
Not to be limited in her creative endeavors, Deanna also occasionally enjoys photography, face painting, and vinyl projects when time allows.
